This Privacy Policy describes how Gegentic ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Gegentica learning sandbox — the website at gegentic.ai, the educational license registration flow, and the self-hosted sandbox software you run on your own infrastructure (together, the "Service").

We collect as little as possible, and only what is needed to administer your educational license:

• Registration details: your name, institutional or research email address, institution name, and stated intended use;
• License heartbeat: a periodic check-in from your sandbox instance, containing only your instance identifier and license token — no prompts, responses, or usage content;
• Website analytics: standard, aggregated traffic data (pages visited, referrer, browser type) collected from gegentic.ai and docs.gegentic.com.

The Gegentica sandbox runs entirely on infrastructure you control. We have no access to, and do not collect:

• Prompts, completions, or any content you process through your sandbox;
• Policy sets, detector configurations, or audit logs you create;
• Any data belonging to the AI agents you connect to your sandbox.

If you choose to export audit logs or evidence from your sandbox for coursework or research, that export stays on your own machine — it is never transmitted to us.

We use the information described in Section 2 to:

• Issue and administer your educational license, including verifying eligibility;
• Operate the license heartbeat so your sandbox knows its license is active;
• Respond to support requests sent to us directly;
• Understand aggregate usage of our marketing site and documentation so we can improve them.

We do not sell your information. We may share registration details with a small number of service providers who help us operate license administration and email delivery, under contractual confidentiality obligations. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

We retain registration information for as long as your educational license is active, plus a reasonable period afterward to handle support requests and re-registration. You may request deletion of your registration data at any time by contacting us — this does not affect data already processed within your own self-hosted sandbox, which we never had access to.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the registration information we hold about you, or to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 9.

The Service is intended for students, researchers, and educators and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
